Load more on Transactions and Ledger

Transactions and Ledger used to show their first page and stop, as if that were everything. A busy month could hold more than that with no sign of it. Both lists now end in Load more whenever there is more to read.

Transactions

The queue loads 50 transactions at a time. Choose Load more to add the next 50 under the ones you have. If you file every row on screen and more are waiting, the queue offers the next page instead of telling you it is clear. Switching tabs or filters starts the list over, so rows from one filter never land in another.

The review tab now includes transactions that are ready to post, not only the ones that need a decision. If filing a row fails, it goes back where it was instead of vanishing until you reload.

Ledger

The Ledger lists 100 entries at a time and adds the next 100 on request, with the same behavior as Transactions.

Close

The Close screen counts every open exception that blocks a close. Before, it counted only the first 200 it listed, ordered by the severity word, so it could offer a close that the ledger then refused. The list now leads with errors.

Fixes and improvements

  • A request that is lost, times out or is answered with a server error is retried automatically, up to twice, for actions that create something. A flaky connection no longer leaves you unsure whether it was saved, or saved twice.
  • The Gusto connection refuses a hand-written sign-in state, so only a connection you started can complete.
  • Closing a month and posting to it at the same moment can no longer deadlock.
  • The home page now shows LedgerIt working: asking the books a question, approving entries, closing a month and planning runway.
  • Blog articles open with an illustration.
