Data deletion

Effective September 29, 2026

You can ask us to delete your personal data, or a company’s books, at any time. This page explains how, and what happens next. The privacy policy has the full picture of what we hold.

How to ask

Write to support@ledgerit.ai from the email address on your account, and say whether you want your own account deleted, or a company’s books as well. Only an owner of a company can ask for its books to be deleted. We may ask you to confirm the request before we act on it.

What we delete

  • Your account: your profile, profile picture, passkeys and sign-in history, and your membership of every company. Entries you posted stay in the books you posted them in, because they are part of that company’s accounting records.
  • A company’s books: its ledger, transactions, documents, rules and the connections to outside services, whose access tokens we revoke.
  • Analytics: your analytics profile and session replays.

When

We confirm a request within 7 days and complete it within 30. Books are kept for 30 days after the request so they can be exported, unless you ask us to skip that. Copies in backups are overwritten on a rolling basis within 30 days after that.

What we have to keep

Billing and tax records we are legally required to keep, and records we need to resolve a dispute or enforce our terms, are kept for as long as that obligation lasts and used for nothing else.

If a company uses LedgerIt and holds your data

If you are an employee, contractor, customer or vendor of a company that keeps its books in LedgerIt, that company controls the records about you. Ask it directly; if you write to us instead, we will pass the request on and help it respond.
